RCIA
is the official Rite of the Roman Catholic Church whereby
non-baptized adults, those baptized in another faith, and
those not raised in the faith seek full membership into the
Roman Catholic faith.
This is an eight-month
religious formation program for adults who wish to join the
Catholic Church. Participants examine their faith while
learning about the Catholic tradition. Through weekly classes,
the shared experience of weekly Mass, special liturgies and
community service, candidates examine and deepen their faith
lives, while learning about the Catholic tradition. RCIA
begins each year in September and continues through May.
How You Can Get Involved
Each RCIA candidate walks in this journey of
faith with a sponsor, an adult Catholic who agrees to
participate in all of the RCIA activities with their
candidate, especially the major events which take place in
December, February and April. Serving as a sponsor is a
wonderful way to refresh your knowledge of Catholic practices
and traditions, while exploring a new your relationship with
God.
