Mary Ann Durkin
St. Christine Pre-School Principal

I am called many names, but Mary Ann Durkin is the name I received the day I came into this world, a good number of years ago.

I have been actively involved with all ages of children including preschool and kindergarten and a childcare administrator.

My educational background includes attending Saint Dominic's School, Saint Christine's School, Cardinal Mooney High School, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Science Degree, specializing in Early Childhood Education from Youngstown State University.  I also possess a permanent Teaching Certificate from the State of Ohio.

My "time off" finds me reading, listening to music and spending time with my five siblings, four brothers and a sister and their spouses.  Attendance at the various school and sport activities of my thirteen nieces and nephews and twenty-two great nieces and nephews leaves little time to be "bored".

My motto has always been to put "CHILDREN FIRST", in all aspects of teaching.  Parent and Grandparent involvement is always encouraged and welcome.

I am honored and blessed to be a part of Saint Christine's Preschool, the children, their families and the dedicated and loving staff.

My personal motto has always included the precious children I work with and the words of this song are always on my mind and my motivation:

"Greatest Love of All" by Whitney Houston...

"I believe the children are our future
Teach the well and let them on the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside.
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind
us how it used to be
Everybody's searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to ...
I found the greatest love of all inside of me."

My God is a God of LOVE, PATIENCE and FORGIVENESS.
